The Ridout family is an extraordinary UK jazz phenomenon. Alexandra won BBC Young Jazz Musician Award 2016, and was runner up to “Rising Star” in British Jazz Awards 2017. Sax and recorder player Tom was also a finalist in the BBC Awards and has recently released his debut album “No Excuses” with a sold out launch at leading London jazz club the Vortex.
He recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, where his sister is studying trumpet. Their father, Mark is a much sought-after guitarist, who has played for Jimmy Smith, Natalie Cole and Eddie Parker and regularly plays with the BBC BIg Band. They are joined by Flo Moore on bass and Tristan Mailliot on drums. Alexandra has just been asked to play in a BBC Prom Concert in the Albert Hall Featuring past winners of BBC Young Musician of the Year.
