Bridge Cottage
Uckfield, East Sussex TN22

Uckfield Festival is proud to present what we hope will be the first of many intimate musical evenings in the newly renovated splendour of Bridge Cottage. Come and listen to an unforgettable evening of classic jazz as master rhythm guitarist Piers Clark joins with the formidable clarinettist Brian Hills and our very own Lou Glandfield to explore the American Jazz song book from its very roots in the 1920s.

Piers Clark (Leader, guitar) is one of the best swing guitarists around. He has played with the USA’s finest including Scott Hamilton, Kenny Davern and Marty Grosz. Brian Hills (clarinet), a formidable musician who specialises in unearthing forgotten classics from old 78s, has recorded with the likes of Champion Jack Dupree. Lou Glandfield (piano) is a local bluesman (ex-Mike Westbrook, Lol Coxhill et al). Join them in the atmospheric setting of this iconic Uckfield building for a lyrical and exhilarating celebration of New Orleans jazz…and beyond.
